Recent Updates: The university is welcoming back visitors to campus. More information can be found on our COVID-19 Community Guide.

  • We all need to do our part to help keep each other safe and expect all members of our community to follow the health and safety guidelines outlined here and to practice everyday preventive actions to limit your risk.

Thanks to our vaccination policy requiring everyone on campus to be up-to-date and our culture of care, masks and testing will be encouraged, optional, and not required for access to most indoor campus spaces beginning May 23

There are specific situations when and where additional precautions will be taken.

    • Entry Periods
The beginning of each term and after long breaks pose new risks as our community returns to campus. During these brief periods, masks will be required in classrooms and negative tests will be required for academic building access. If and when conditions allow, campus policies will shift back to encouraged and optional masks and tests.

The specific dates of these entry periods will be announced in advance.

    • Healthcare Spaces
Masks will continue to be required to be worn in healthcare spaces, including Student Health Services, by everyone, regardless of vaccination status.
    • Isolation, Quarantine, and Exposure
    • Those who are not up-to-date or unvaccinated with approved exemption

Visit our data dashboard for updates about the vaccination, testing, and positivity rates on our campus.

    Guiding Principles

    • Adjust, as needed, based on campus and overall conditions

Could include adjustments to mask and test requirements, guests

    • Vaccination policy guided by CDC and NYS DOH

The university will evaluate and update vaccination policies, particularly if and when the definition of up-to-date changes.

    • Respect mask choice

While our campus shifts to an environment of encouraged and optional mask wearing, the university strongly supports anyone who wishes to wear a mask at any time, in any place, and for any reason. Wearing a mask does not indicate one’s vaccination, infection, or exposure status. Similarly, no one can force someone else to wear a mask when and where university policy makes it optional.

Students who violate guidelines will be referred for disciplinary action through the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards.
