    Schedule of Events

    ARCHITECTURE AND SUSTAINABILITY TOUR

    3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
    Meet in University Center Lobby, 63 Fifth Avenue

    Tour The New School’s University Center and learn how sustainability is incorporated into the building’s design, construction, and operation. Awarded a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Gold certification for its outstanding focus on sustainability, the building is among a select few in New York and one of the few academic buildings across the country to have received this honor.

    MAKING CENTER TOUR

    3:00 - 4:00 p.m.
    Meet in University Center Lobby, 63 Fifth Avenue

    Tour the state-of-the-art Making Center, the new campus hub that brings together creative tools from around the university.

    VIRTUAL REALITY WORKSHOP

    In a workshop co-led by Maya Georgieva, director of Digital Learning at The New School's XReality Center, and Parsons faculty member and alumna Niberca Polo, BFA Communication Design '05, MA Media Studies '11, MA Design Studies '14, produce your own virtual reality project.

    Led by Diretor of Parsons eLab Rhea Alexander, BFA Environmental Design '87; MA Media Studies '17, learn the ins and outs of how to build your business and hear from Parsons alumni entrepreneurs who will offer on-site demos and pitch presentations.

    OPEN CAMPUS POP-UP WORKSHOP: A BASIC INTRODUCTION TO DATA VISUALIZATION

    Led by Parsons faculty member Silvio DaSilva, gain an understanding of data visualization by exploring sources, data types, and visual formats for different kinds of projects and learn how to plan a vision, conceptualize, sketch, and design engaging infographics with multiple elements and for various audiences.

    Hear from Reed Krakoff, Fashion Design '89, Chief Artistic Officer at Tiffany & Co., as he discusses his work leading the vision for one of America's most iconic companies, speaking on everything from his design philosophy to today's luxury market to robin's-egg blue.
