    José García Escobar, MFA Creative Writing '17, a journalist, fiction writer, translator, and former Fulbright scholar from Guatemala, leads a discussion on Latin America’s literary landscape today.

    Creative Writing Presents: The Do's, Don'ts, and Hell No's of Publishing Online Work as a Multi-Genre Writer

    Alcy Leyva, MFA Creative Writing '16, a Bronx-born multi-genre writer, covers publishing skills such as finding websites to query, scheduling your writing, and watching for trends on social media that will help build your online library.

    Big Beat Rhythm Workshop

    Faculty member and alumnus Scott Kettner, BFA Jazz and Contemporary Music '01, leads this high-energy percussion workshop, featuring call-and-response drumming, body rhythms, and singing. All instruments will be provided and no experience is necessary.

    Media Studies Presents: Mixed Messages

    Annual exhibition of outstanding work by graduate students in the School of Media Studies, including working prototypes, installations, interactive projects, online experiences, soundscapes, and works on paper.

    A Conversation on Nuclear Disarmament with Ray Acheson, MA Politics '14
    Tishman Auditorium, University Center, 63 Fifth Avenue
    Ray Acheson is a member of the steering committee of the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize-winning International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons. His remarks will be followed by a discussion with Deva Woodly, professor of politics.

    The (Reimagined) Patient Gown by Care+Wear x Parsons
    Starr Foundation Hall, University Center, 63 Fifth Avenue
    Earlier this year, health-care company Care+Wear launched a hospital gown designed by Parsons students in the new Systems and Society pathway, which is led by assistant professor of fashion Brendan McCarthy, MFA Fine Arts '11. The first of its kind, it provides patients with greater coverage without restricting clinicians' access. See the gown, try it on, and give feedback to the students, alumni, and faculty behind this innovative garment, which is being adopted by hospitals and health-care centers around the country.
