In this space, we share a snapshot of some of President McBride's engagement in and around the New School Community.
Fall 2020
This fall, the President has focused extensively on engagement with the university community, to be in dialogue about the challenges, financial implications, and measures taken to address the impact of COVID-19. In total, President McBride has hosted or attended more than 40 meetings with a total of over 1000 members of the university community. He has met with the Faculty Senate, Staff Senate, and Student Senate; faculty, staff, and leadership bodies in the colleges; the university's senior staff; and various faculty groups including new fulltime faculty, faculty of color, and recently promoted faculty. He has also reached out to invite meetings with leaders of the labor unions that represent New School employees, and participated in an interview with editors of the New School Free Press.

Outside of the University
President McBride has enjoyed virtual visits with the new CEO of the Association for a Better New York, Melva Miller, the New School's Assembly member Deborah Glick, peer presidents from area colleges and universities.
On October 13, he participated on a panel hosted by Tsinghua University, China, and Yale University on US - China collaboration.
On October 20, he attended a virtual seminar Crisis Leadership in Higher Education, hosted by the Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard Graduate School of Education.
