November 9, 2012

Dear Colleagues,

The Office of the Provost is now accepting applications for grants from the Faculty Research Fund and the Innovations in Education Fund. The deadline to apply is January 22, 2013.

The Faculty Research Fund (FRF) awards grants of up to $10,000 to support faculty scholarship and creative practice. Funds can be used to develop or implement projects that require travel, training, or other research-related expenses.

The Innovations in Education Fund (IEF) awards grants of up to $10,000 to support projects to develop innovative pedagogy. Although proposals for speculative initiatives will be considered, the Office of the Provost hopes that projects by grant recipients could be prototyped at the university in the near future.

Both programs are open to full- and part-time faculty members (subject to eligibility criteria). Awarded funds must be used between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014. For guidelines, eligibility criteria, a list of previous awardees, and the application form, visit newschool.edu/leadership/provost/facultyfunds/.

If you have questions about the Faculty Research Fund, contact Amy Minter at mintera@newschool.edu. If you have questions about the Innovation in Education Fund, contact Vicki Cedeno at cedenov@newschool.edu.

Interested applicants are invited to attend an information session on FRF and IEF presented by staff members of the Office of the Provost.

Dates and locations: November 27, 3:30-4:30 p.m. (66 West 12th Street, room 510) and December 10, 1:00–2:30 p.m. (80 Fifth Avenue, room 802)

RSVP: ProvostFRF@newschool.edu.
