Selected Research Clusters will receive grants between $10,000 and $20,000 per year for a two-to-three year period, pending availability of funds and satisfactory progress. We expect to support up to three Research Clusters in the inaugural year of this program funded through June 2014. Funding will go to the best proposals that involve a team of faculty with two designated Project Directors with affiliation in separate divisions of the university. The University Research Council, a committee of faculty, will review proposals and make recommendations to the Provost. The Provost will announce award winners in late January, with anticipated funding to begin in February 2013. The deadline for proposal submissions is Friday, December 14 at 5:00 p.m. For full proposal guidelines and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), go to: For more information about the program, and to meet other faculty interested in discussing their collaborative research ideas, be sure to attend a special Research Clusters event on Thursday, October 25 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. in the Orozco Room, 66 West 12th Street, 7th Floor. Light refreshments will be served. Additionally, questions about the Research Cluster Grants can be addressed to Will Milberg (milbergw@newschool.edu), Professor of Economics and Chair of the University Research Council or to Robert Gutierrez (ProvostFRF@newschool.edu), Director of Research Support.
