The awarding of tenure or extended employment is a way of acknowledging the achievements and contributions of faculty. Congratulations once again to all the faculty members who earned this distinction in the past year. I also want to extend my gratitude to all the faculty members who participated in review committees and to the administrators in the divisions and the provost's office who undertook the considerable amount of work required to facilitate and coordinate the reviews. Your commitment of time and your wisdom, seriousness, and high standards are important and much appreciated.

Sincerely,

David
