The purpose of the New School Faculty Senate is to provide thoughtful advice and counsel to the President, Provost, the Deans, and the Board of Trustees on all matters that affect the academic life of the institution. This website provides up-to-date information for Senate members and the larger University community.

Although the Faculty Senate may address any educational or administrative matter with implications for more than one academic division, the emphasis is on issues of concern to the entire University. As the organization representing the Faculty as a whole, the Senate is committed to ascertaining the views of the Faculty and to keeping the Faculty fully informed of the Senate's activities.

The functions of the Faculty Senate are described in general terms in the Bylaws; the Minutes provide documentation of meetings and other activities.
