Course listings are updated daily.
The dates for loading courses to the catalog are: Summer and fall courses are posted March 1. Spring courses are posted October 1.
Parsons special summer programs are posted November 1.

How to Register for Courses [+]

Returning students: Online early registration is scheduled in April for summer and fall classes and in November for spring classes. Schedules and instructions are published at Registration Information. Students who miss early registration may have wait to register until the in-person registration period just before classes begin.

Newly admitted students: Instructions to register are included in your acceptance package. Students who have paid the tuition deposit normally can register over the summer if they are entering in the fall and in December or early January if they are entering in the spring. Information about orientation activities and registration schedules is periodically posted in New Student Information.

Nonmatriculated continuing education students can find and register for courses (noncredit, general credit, certificate) using the Continuing Education Registration System.

Reviewing Your Degree Requirements [+]

Matriculated students usually are required to review their courses with an advisor before they register. A valuable tool in planning your program DegreeWorks, an online degree auditing software. DegreeWorks is available at MyNewSchool.

Students should pay particular attention to the class level of courses, which is indicated by the course master number: Undergraduate courses are numbered 1000 to 4000; graduate courses are numbered 5000 to 7000. Students using this catalog should filter for courses at the appropriate level based on their own studies. Note: Upper-class undergraduate students may be permitted to take 5000- and 6000-level graduate courses. Graduate students may be able to audit certain undergraduate-level courses. In all cases, advance permission of the student's advisor is required to register.
