Description:
Topics in Pedagogy is a non-credit seminar for New School students who are Teaching Assistants or Teaching Fellows. The seminar is particularly designed for first-time Assistants or Fellows. It is required for all graduate students teaching at The New School who have not had any formal pedagogical training. The purpose of the seminar is to provide a context for participants to reflect critically on the practice of teaching, to introduce them to pedagogical concepts, and to assist them in developing new teaching skills. It also provides a place for graduate students to ask questions about teaching, hear from other new instructors, and find support.
