Through a consideration of classic and contemporary texts, this introductory course will examine the many ways that design—conceived broadly to include any intentional plan, process, or product—can influence individuals’ sense of identity and possibility, structures and systems of social organization, and the expression of political power.
Students must register for both the lecture and discussion section of this course.
