The course will highlight similarities and differences between the two societies, their mutual perceptions, cultural exchanges and influences, patterns of development, causes of conflict as well as possibilities for cooperation, and their role in world history and the contemporary global economy. In addition to reading primary and second materials, students will also study films and documentaries.
