Description:
The second semester of this full year course is divided into two seven-week modules. In the first part of the semester, students are asked to identify their goals for after graduation and develop strategies for accomplishing them. Topics include resume and portfolio presentation, identifing, acquiring, and maintaining clients, how to approach a gallery or a museum, how to negotiate contracts, copyright, and reproduction rights, and the tax advantages and liabilities of freelance status. The second part of the second semester concentrates on preparing students for their Senior Show. Topics include how to edit and sequence work, how best to use the allotted space, how to mat and frame pictures, and how to hang them relative to a sight line. Student's are required to keep a daybook specifically for this class.
