This course, the fourth of the Program’s Core Studio curriculum, offers students an in depth contextualization of the Program’s five pathways: Contemporary Art, Creative Industry, Fashion Culture, Imaging Technology and Social Engagement. Emphasis is placed on concept development, contextual research, creative process and practice. Students develop their own practice as it relates to their area of interest, and gain critical perspective through self-evaluation and peer-to-peer evaluation. Lectures, readings, writing assignments, and field visits provide professional, theoretical and historical context to the student’s evolving practice. This studio course runs in tandem with Core Lab 4.
