Description:
In this course, the second of the Program’s Core Studio curriculum, students further their practice as they work with a greater depth of inquiry, develop their visual language, and refine their photographic skills. Furthering the discussion of capture and output they began in Core Studio 1 and Core Lab 1, this course incorporates further technical tools with an emphasis on studio lighting techniques. Alongside a creative practice, students also develop critical dialogue and research methods in historic and contemporary practices in the field. Students complete weekly assignments, while lectures and critiques advance their understanding of image-making possibilities across all areas of photography. This studio course runs in tandem with Core Lab 2.
