This course explores techniques for manipulating the surface of materials. Utilizing both digital tools such as photoshop/illustrator as well as analog techniques such as drawing, silk screen, block printing, laser cutting, sewing, chemical and heat manipulations, digital printing, felting, etc. Students will explore what is possible with paper, fabric, wood, metal and/or other surfaces and how these treatments can be incorporated into the design process.
