Description:
Fashion as community will take its central focus as to the diverse and divergent cultural spaces within NY city. This is a way to examine the variety of communities, their neighborhoods and material culture elements associated within these communities. Students may opt to research into an element of cultural identity and expressed in a way that sensitively acknowledges the particularities of that community. Students will be encouraged to build on their own community connections in order to this explore the parameters of aesthetic as it might pertain to fashion design development.
