This course is a studio course that creates an opportunity for students to examine a variety of communities, both local and global, and material culture associated with these communities. The course will begin with an exploration of cultural/global aesthetics as it pertains to fashion design development, and the increasing interest and intersection of craft practices and artisans from developing and emerging contexts. Students will explore through design and applied processes, the integration of design concepts as they relate to fashion and 3D form.
