Description:
Senior level design studios give advanced Architectural Design students an opportunity to develop a depth of project not seen in prior semesters. Studios are run independeantly of each other, and the content of the programs are diverse. The elements that are consistent across the studios, however, are complex buiding programs. The complexity of program reflects the development of design as an agent of culture, placing multiple communities into a common context. Students must develop design responses that engage a vocabulary of space and urban engagement that becomes at once idiosyncratic and universal. The results of this semster's work provide the students with a knowledge of a broad based relationship between communities, cultures, and space.
