Description:
This course serves as an introduction to building chemistry and materials research, new business models, communication design and social/policy change agenda. Students will adopt both cross-disciplinary and transdisciplinary methods to develop new knowledge and practices. The first semester will lay out what is known in best building practices and explore what we don’t know in research groups. The seminar will identify how we can solve the practical problems of building at the leading edge of practice and propose incentives to practice and communicate new practices to the industry, building managers and tenants.
