Tactical media is a term coined in 1996, to denote a form of media activism that privileges temporary, hit-and-run interventions in the media sphere over the creation of permanent and alternative media outlets. This hands-on course provides a comprehensive exposure to tactical media, media activism history and the opportunity to create a series of interventionist and critical projects, addressing socio-political, ecological and economical issues in the public/media sphere. The projects produced during this class will be developed in teams and through interactions among the students during the conception, production, intervention and presentation phases. This course will also focus on research, documentation and presentation strategies. During the semester students will actively engage with class lectures, discussions, hands-on exercises, assignments and projects with critiques.
