While black and white photography has been the base of historical photographic aesthetics, it remains a relevant form of contemporary communication. This class is designed for any student interested in extending their black and white skills and visual vocabulary. The course covers film processing and silver print processing, including the zone system, as well as black and white digital processes, from scanning and capture to the final print. Students complete technical assignments and participate in class critiques and discussions, in order to raise each student to a higher level of understanding of both photography and their own personal vision.
