This course is designed for students interested in extending their black and white skills and visual vocabulary. This is a historical and alternative processes course in photography that also embraces new technologies. Techniques covered are; advanced film processing, silver print processing, liquid light processes and alternative silver process. The course also covers black and white digital processes, from scanning and capture, creating digital negatives to the final print. Through technical demonstrations, hands-on workshops, and technical and creative assignments, students develop a deeper knowledge of the various mediums while also developing their own visual language.

Open to: All School of Art, Media, and Technology undergraduate degree students, sophomores only. Pre-requisite: PUPH 2100 Core Studio 1: Photo Practices or PSAM 1050 Photo Practices.
