Description:
A practicing contemporary artist guides students on a journey to combine 2D and 3D forms while exploring the landscape of New York City. Projects begin as drawings and paintings and are later transformed into sculptural works documented through photography and video. Students investigate collage, found object sculpture and installation in the studio as well as in public spaces. A broad range of materials and techniques will be introduced including paper mache and basic 3D construction. Students gain experience with documentation techniques by developing a handmade book that recounts projects completed in the class.
