Description:
Philosophers have differed as to the bases of design and art, for it makes all the difference whether questions of beauty, pleasure, truth and value are raised in terms of intelligible ideals, physical pleasures, personal preferences or structuring contexts. In this course, we examine four fundamental views of design and art, with special attention to the relation of theory to practice and to the structure of argument. Pathway: Design Studies
