Description:
This course provides a comprehensive and integrative introduction to engagement methods and familiarizes students with a variety of research perspectives used to explore processes of spatial production. By developing a method of learning, making, and doing that connects global flows with practices of everyday life in local neighborhoods, the course immerses the students into a collective reflection and conversations about the relationship between the complex processes of the production of democratic, inclusive and participatory urban space with the transdisciplinary practices of urban field-research. Through hands-on explorations, students will explore the always-evolving relations between, designing, democracy, civil society, and ecosystems. Methods 2 provide a toolkit for Studio 2.
