- Design History, Theory & Criticism
Creativity, Innovation, and Design is a graduate level course that will explore the connections between creativity, time, and place. We will look at how the confluence of politics, social policy, economics, social change, and technology have generated periods of great creativity and innovation in places such as Paris in the 1920’s, Shanghai in the 30’s, New York in the ‘50’s and London in the ‘60’s. The goal of this course is to understand how these forces work to produce today's global cities as centers of creativity in our own time.
