Description:
A soup-to-nuts breakdown of the curatorial process, culminating in the organization of an exhibition for the Parsons Festival. Starting with conceiving a premise, then building an identity for the exhibition, and finally dealing with installation issues, along the way we will think about ways to interpret objects from all fields, including art, design, and fashion. The class includes some history of exhibition-making, and pivotal exhibitions from the past will be analyzed in depth. Guest speakers include graphic designers, curators, and artists who will offer insights and feedback on our approach.
