This course is focused on fashion trend analysis. It will heighten student's ability to recognize newness, key change agents, fashion cycles, and provide knowledge on how to create sound creative trend presentations. Students learn about micro and macro trends and how they impact global and local fashion. It will cover: methodologies of trend analysis, means of locating and determining fashion trends, consumer insights, and ways to sift through multitudes of trend data to identity prevalent trend direction. As New York City is a fashion capital, students will explore major fashion retailers, neighborhoods, and attend trend presentations.
