- Creative Writing
In this literature seminar, we quickly bring ourselves to speed on the history of the book, examining works that variously redefined the landscape?from scrolls to illuminated manuscripts to pamphlets to large and small press books. We study current trends in literature?the long form essay, and ebooks, graphic novels, and other text/image hybrids. We look at burgeoning forms of electronic literature, including the blog, the tweet, the text/video documentary, and even a few games. Guest lecturers, all working at the forefront of narrative arts, bring field-tested experience to our academic investigations. Students, through in class exercises and assignments, invent innovative models of their own for the final project.
