Quantitative methods are indispensable for making good decisions. All fields studied at Milano rely on statistical methods to further the corpus of knowledge and challenge received wisdom. With this in mind, this course focuses on both the theory and application of various statistical tools. The purpose is to enable students to develop a critical understanding of basic statistical concepts and techniques; proficiency in applying statistics to various social science, management, planning, and public policy questions; and familiarity with computer software for statistical analysis, graphical presentation of data, and report writing. (Typically offered Spring Term.)
