Description:
Work takes up at least a third of the day for most of us. What is the impact of the work environment in our lives? This course examines how employers recruit and select applicants, decide who gets what kind of training on what topic, and evaluate employee performance. We also investigate the experience of workers: motivation, satisfaction, well-being, and commitment, as well as how employees work in groups, relate to their co-workers, and respond to leadership and how conflicts can be resolved. In individual and team projects, we use case studies to look at how organizations and the people in them develop.
