Description:
Enrollment limited. This workshop explores the interrelation of the aesthetic and the technical in photography by focusing on its most demanding and rewarding aspect: the use of existing light. We work with the methods and materials required in difficult, sometimes dimly lit situations. Stretching our vision and technical ability, we translate light, color, and ideas to film and digital media. Special films, software processes, equipment, and camera techniques and their use in creating evocative images are demonstrated and discussed. Regular assignments and critiques are an important part of the course. Prerequisite: Introduction to Photography 1 or equivalent experience. Bring samples of your prints and negatives or digital files to the first session for review.
