Description:
Students work in groups and each group partners with a nonprofit organization to create an advocacy or promotional video for the organization. Students research and develop story ideas and create a written proposal and action plan. They learn production techniques using digital camcorders and microphones as well as the basic concepts of non-linear editing using Final Cut Pro. By the end of the semester each group should have a filmed and edited a completed 3-5 minute video. Students have access to New School digital video cameras but must have a firewire drive.
