This course is designed for intermediate to high-intermediate students who are interested in exploring the world of French art and music while honing their writing, listening and verbal skills. The course materials include various media (art magazines, literary excerpts and art criticism, visual material from museums and other sources, exhibition reviews, opera librettos and lyrics from art songs, movies) selected to build students’ vocabulary, reinforce their knowledge of grammar and encourage them to speak spontaneously on a range of topics pertaining to the arts. This course is conducted entirely in French.
