This advanced-level reading and discussion course explores the work of writers from the French-speaking world, including Camus, Sartre, Bauby, and Guène, who have addressed the experience of being physically confined. Famous short French texts dealing with philosophical notions of space, mind, and body are also brought into the discussion. This course is conducted entirely in French. Prerequisite: French Level 5 or the equivalent or permission of the instructor.
