Description:
Enrollment limited. Journey into the process of making art for the purpose of self-expression, using a wide range of art materials. We explore the bridge between art and psychology by examining various art therapy techniques, the stages of group therapy, and the prescriptive use of the art medium. Students are encouraged to become aware of their own reactions in class, which may parallel the experiences of those they might treat through art therapy. NOTE: Students pursuing the certificate cannot register online. CAT certificate students must meet with an advisor prior to registering each semester and register in person with a certificate registration form signed by the program coordinator.
