This course focuses on the power and potential of an actor's physicality. Students will explore a range of movement-centered approaches to character, scene and monologue work, and improvised score. Through Grotowski’s corporals and plastiques, students will learn to recognize and harness their physical impulses; explore their physical relation to one another and their environment via Viewpoints training; discover how to warm up in response to what they need in the moment with efficiency and trust; and utilize observation, music, and animal-work to enable embodied acting.
