Are people constituted by nature, by how they are nurtured, or by an interaction between the two? This enduring intellectual issue is explored around the issue of homosexuality. Does it arise because of biology? Is it shaped by maturation, or by culture? And, most importantly, how do biological, cultural, and developmental factors interact in the construction of a sexual identity. We will consult biological, psychological, anthropological, and sociological literature as we address these issues.
