Description:
Analysis of a variety of tonal works from the classical era to the present. Study of techniques for score reading and transposition. Exploration of melodic/harmonic/rhythmic content, form, orchestration. Weekly assignments will include analyses of compositions in specific tonal styles and instrumentations. Composers may include Mozart, Brahms, Sibelius, Janá?ek, Copland, Reich, and others.
