Description:
Begins where Theory 1A left off. This course introduces basic chromatic harmony (secondary dominant and diminished chords, tonicization and modulation). Continuing detailed study of voice-leading concepts and harmonic function. Continuing melodic function: repetititon, variation, and sequence. Introduction of chord extensions and basic harmonic substitution.
