In this course, we will discuss major political concepts and problems as they are presented in the texts of ancient authors. The readings will include the Presocratics, Aristotle’s Politics and Nicomachean Ethics, Plato’s Republic and Laws, as well as Herodotus, Thucydides, and other historians.
