What do I do if there's no dial tone on my phone? Or Voicemail doesn't work? Or the ringer stops working? Or the button doesn't light up when there's an incomming call?  

Submit an online Repair Order Request Form to the Telephone Department. They will dispatch a service request on your behalf. Normal response time is within 24 hours.


How do I request a service change?

Submit a University Move Request Form (PDF) to Adam Reale. Your request should indicate where the additional phone number will be located: building location, department name, and room number. This will take approximately 10-15 business days to process. To report telephone service problems or a request for existing services please complete the online Service Order Request Form.

 

How do I request voice mail?  

Submit an online Service Order Request Form to the Telephone Department. Your request should indicate the name of the individual to receive voicemail, what their telephone extension is, and their office location.


How do I retrieve my voicemail?

If you have requested voicemail for your telephone and need to access your voice messages, dial 212-229-7000. You will be prompted for your mailbox (phone) number and password. If it is not working submit an online Service Order Request Form to the Telephone Department. They will dispatch a service request on your behalf.


What do I do if I cannot access my voicemail because I don't remember the password?

Submit an online Service Order Request Form to the Telephone Department to reset your voicemail password. Your request should indicate your telephone number and extension.


How do I request a new telephone instrument? 

If your telephone requires repair or service or to request an additional telephone instrument, submit an online Service Order Request Form or the Repair Order Request Form to the Telephone Department. Your request should indicate the telephone type, location for the additional telephone (building and room number) and what existing telephone extensions are to be programmed onto it. This will take approximately 10-15 business days to process.


My telephone does not permit long-distance calls, how do I get this changed?

Submit an online Service Order Request Form to the Telephone Department indicating the telephone number which requires long-distance capability programmed onto it.


How do I access the Voice Activated Dialing System? 

You can access the Voice Activated Dialing System by dialing 212-229-7007 (or internally by dialing x7000) and saying the name of the person you wish to reach.


How do I make an international call? 

International Calling can only be made if you have a Restricted Account PIN Code. These can only be approved by your budget people. Instructions for there use are in the Help Section of this website.


What other calls are blocked or restricted by the University? 

All 900 numbers are blocked. International calls are restricted.


How do make a directory assistance call?

The University blocks calls to 411 or 555-1212 for cost issues. Telephone numbers can be obtained by going on the web to sites like "Superpages" or "Yellow Pages".
