Talk With Me Studio (PDF)This project by a Parsons The New School for Design Transdisciplinary Design MFA student sought to develop curriculum that provides a framework for a Parsons graduate studio, which explores what design and technology interventions might foster more sustainable behavior within the new University Center, the university’s new LEED-certified, high-performance building.
Urban Dyers Almanac (PDF)This ongoing project led by a Parsons The New School for Design faculty used the award to fund its mobile research laboratory, Textile Lab, the development of The Urban Dyers Almanac, a blog that records the work of students who collect and use local plants as natural textile dyes, in combination with regional wool.
Cyclee (Cyclee PDF version)A Parsons The New School for Design, Design & Technology MFA student project, Cyclee is a social platform made for cyclists, by cyclists, to learn from others who ride similar paths.
Bicycle Outpost (PDF)Led by a faculty member, Parsons New School for Design Architecture BFA students designed and built a mobile prototype of a “bicycle service station” for The New School and surrounding cyclist community.
Sustainable Gallery Lighting (PDF)In conjunction with faculty from The Parsons New School for Design MFA Lighting Design Program and the Sheila Johnson Design Center (SJDC), two students researched and proposed an energy-efficient plan for lighting the two galleries of the SJDC.
