All new students are expected to attend New Student Orientation.
New Student Orientation for undergraduate and graduate students takes place January 17–20, 2012. Orientation is intended to help students become members of
our
university community. Orientation provides important information about
academic procedures and policies and the
registration process for your division of the university. In addition, workshops introduce you to the resources and services available to students at The New School.

- Attendance is required at certain orientation sessions, so please review your division's schedule carefully and note the required events.
- New students in the School of Undergraduate Studies (BA, BS, and BFA) should plan to attend the academic orientation session on Thursday,
January 12, 2012. Refer to The New School for Public Engagement orientation schedule for other events you might wish to attend during orientation week.
- ESL + Design Certificate students: Do not attend New Student
