The key to successful recruiting is a strong campus presence. Developing a campus presence is best achieved through an integrated approach involving a range of activities. In addition to posting jobs online and meeting top-notch candidates through internship/career fairs, consider traditional and new ways to make your organization attractive to New School students.
All employers have access to our Internship and Job Board, Career Successlink, which is the best way to get the word out to New School students and alumni. Register your company to post positions.
The New School runs two full-scale fairs during the academic year, in fall and spring. In addition, from time to time we host smaller, industry-specific events. At our larger fairs, sponsorship opportunities are offered that include event branding, résumé books, and follow-up on campus interviewing.
We invite you to conduct your interviews here on campus. We can help you efficiently schedule interviews in a space where you can get a feel for our campus culture. We can reserve a space for the whole day and you can enjoy lunch with a member of our staff.
Information sessions are an excellent way to get the word out about your organization. The format of the sessions is up to the employer, and we will reserve a room for you for up to two hours. The first portion of the session is traditionally a presentation, which can include an overview of the company history/mission, current projects, available opportunities, and how to apply. Following the presentation can be a Q&A and a chance to speak to students individually. We are able to track event RSVPs to ensure a suitable audience.
Set up shop at a high-traffic location on campus in the lobby of the University Center. Promote your company and engage our students in a relaxed, informal setting. The table can be a forum to provide students with information, drive attendance to an upcoming event, pre-screen for interviews, or allow organizations to briefly and informally reach out to students. If you are targeting a specific population, we can compile a résumé book so that you have quick, easy access to information on qualified candidates.
Bringing students right to the source is a great way to provide insight into the company culture. We can arrange for a group of students, along with a faculty or staff member, to tour your site.
