The Marcheron Residence Hall
Open to all Parsons Paris students, the Marcheron residence hall offers a welcoming, collegial atmosphere. It is staffed by Parsons Community Advisors (CAs), who organize student activities and help maintain a safe and supportive home away from home.
The Marcheron residence hall is located in Vanves, an attractive suburb southwest of Paris. It is conveniently served by the Paris Metro (line 13), bus lines, and a commuter train with direct service to the Montparnasse metro station. There are supermarkets, bakeries, pharmacies, and other shopping within walking distance.
Housing facilities consist of individual studios. Each is furnished with a bed that converts to a sofa, a desk and chair, shelves for books, access to high speed Internet, a kitchenette with a microwave, and an individual bathroom with a shower. Parsons Paris provides one set of sheets and towels and a kitchen kit that includes dishes, utensils, drinking glasses, a colander, a cooking pan, and more. There is a coin-operated laundry facility on the premises. The Marcheron residence has a 24-hour onsite attendant and a digital security system. All Parsons Paris students who apply for housing are assigned a room in the Marcheron unless they express preference for another option and if that option is available.
Housing Fees and Requirements in Paris
The cost for all Paris housing options which include a room at Marcheron Hall is $16,000 for the full academic year. A $250 meal card per term is included in all Paris housing options.
All New School housing contracts are for the full academic year and students may not opt out of their New School Paris housing at any time and receive a refund. Students who live in New School housing on our New York City campus during the fall term who then study in Paris for the spring term, will have their housing contract for the academic year transferred to the Paris residence options and the appropriate adjustments in price will be made. Students who plan to study abroad in Parsons Paris for only one semester will pay $8,000 for their housing through The New School for their housing in Paris.
It is important to note that if students go to Parsons Paris for the fall term only, they do not have to return to The New School’s New York City dorm housing although that option is available upon request and is guaranteed. Students who study abroad at Parsons Paris for the spring term only who are moving there from off campus housing in New York City, are not required to live in the New School’s Paris housing options although they may apply and receive a an assignment in Paris for spring term only.
