Welcome Weekend is a special orientation for recent high school graduates and other incoming students with little or no college experience.
If you have a room in a New School residence hall you can move in during Welcome Weekend. There is also a program for parents during Welcome Weekend. Information sessions give you an overview of the resources and services available at The New School, and a variety of special events introduce you to New York, one of the most exciting and creative cities in the world. Welcome Weekend is about making connections with the university, other students, and New York City.
Parsons AAS students and ESL + Design students (who are not entering their degree program in August 2013) should not attend Welcome Weekend for Freshmen and do not need to register. For detailed schedule information, contact the English Language Studies office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 212.229.5372.
New Student Orientation immediately follows Welcome Weekend for Freshmen and their Parents. Visit the New Student Orientation page for more information.
Parents of freshmen and freshmen transfer students are encouraged to attend the Freshmen Parent Welcome on the same day as their son's or daughter's scheduled arrival. Please see the sidebar to the right for Welcome Weekend registration information.
