    The New School for Social Research

    You will register starting June 4.
    You will receive registration information from the Office of Academic Affairs and your department by email to your New School email address on June 2.

    Registration information reserving your place in the class and paying your admission tuition deposit

    Beginning in mid-May, students who have submitted their admission tuition deposits will receive an email introducing their academic advisors and providing instructions for signing up for an advising appointment. Please check your New School email for this information. Advising appointments can take place by telephone, by Skype, or in person.

    Bachelor’s Programs (BA, BS, BBA, and BFA)

    You will register starting June 2 (for sophomore and junior transfer students) or June 16 (for freshmen and freshmen transfer students).

BA/BFA students will first meet with their academic advisors at Parsons to discuss studio courses and then contact an academic advisor at Lang to discuss selection of liberal arts courses.

    You will register starting May 5.
    All new Media Studies degree students will receive a registration email before May 6. Be sure to check your New School email account.

    School of Writing: Master’s Program in Creative Writing

    You will register starting June 9.
    All new MFA students will receive fall 2014 course choices from the Writing Program the week of May 19. An email will be sent with class assignments and registration instructions the week of June 2. Be sure to check your New School email account.

    Eugene Lang College The New School for Liberal Arts

    First-year students

    Please submit your course preferences for the fall semester beginning June 16, using the online selection form (link below). Once your selections are submitted, academic advisors will register you for classes on the basis of these choices, and you will receive your class schedule upon arrival at new student orientation, with opportunities during the week for add/drop changes.

    Transfer students

    Please submit your course preferences for the fall semester beginning July 14, using the transfer registration form online (link below). Academic advisors and departmental staff will review your selections and previous coursework and then respond with further guidance and instructions for registering online for approved courses.

    All new students will attend new student orientation from August 18 to 22.

    Mannes College Division

    New Mannes College Division students register in person with their advisors from August 20 through August 22 during new student orientation. Please note that students cannot register themselves online.

    Students will receive information about orientation, registration, placement auditions, etc., in the summer email, which will be sent on or around July 15.

    Extension Division at Mannes College The New School for Music (Extension Diploma and ESL+Music Certificate)

    New Extension Division students register in person with their advisors from August 18 through August 22 during new student orientation week. Please note that students cannot register themselves online.

    The New School for Drama

    New first-year students at The New School for Drama are required to meet with the associate director of The School for Drama before fall 2014 course registration. Students will receive an email with directions for scheduling a meeting. Please check your New School email address for this information. Meetings can take place by telephone, by Skype, or in person.

    The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music

    Jazz and Contemporary Music (BFA)

    Dual Degree - Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Fine Arts - Jazz/Lang (BA/BFA)
    You will complete placement testing from August 18 through August 20.
    You will register in person with an advisor between August 21 and August 22.
