• The university takes student complaints very seriously. Information and procedures for filing a Sexual Harassment, Sexual Misconduct and Violence, or Title IX complaint can be found on the Title IX resource page.

Student Conduct and Community Standards is responsible for addressing concerns regarding student behavior. It is responsible for upholding the Student Code of Conduct and the University Policy on Harassment, Discrimination, Prohibited Relationships, and Title IX and Non-Title IX Sexual Harassment and Misconduct when a student is the subject of the complaint.  When there are concerns about other members of the campus community (such as faculty or staff), Student Conduct and Community Standards can assist you in finding solutions, but is not the office responsible for determining outcomes. If there are concerns about non-members of the community, Student Conduct and Community Standards can also assist in connecting students to on- and off-campus resources.

Students who have concerns about an instructor or technical or administrative aspects of courses should contact the instructor first. If the problem is not resolved, they should contact an academic advisor or the chair or director of the program offering the course. The program chair or director will confer with the instructor to gain an understanding of the concerns and try to resolve the problem for the student. If the instructional concern is not resolved with the program chair or the department offering the course, the student should contact the associate dean or dean of Academic Affairs of the school offering the course.

Title IX and Equal Employment Opportunity in Human Resources is responsible for addressing concerns when there are allegations that an employee has violated the University Policy on Harassment, Discrimination, Prohibited Relationships, and Title IX and Non-Title IX Sexual Harassment and Misconduct.

If the university is unable to satisfactorily resolve a problem, students can contact the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
