Jessica Blaustein’s design, research, and teaching activities span architecture, print, and material cultures. She currently runs the Urban Media Labs in the School of Media Studies, and she operates B-PLOT, a creative studio that uses textiles and other materials to tell tactile spatial stories. Blaustein previously led the New York Prize Fellowship Program for advanced research and experimental practice in public architecture at Van Alen Institute, and she has taught across the humanities and the arts at the University of Pennsylvania and Duke University. Her awards include fellowships and grants from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Smithsonian Institution, and the Getty Research Institute. She has a PhD from the Program in Literature at Duke University and a Bernina 1630.
